We will again begin with a smoker contest at noon. Attendees are encouraged to bring photos and decorated bee boxes to participate in our other contests. Aaron Brin, an organic vegetable farmer and beekeeper for 20 years, will talk about sustainable beekeeping, his varroa mite control program, GMOs and their effect on bees, bee forage, over wintering, and other topics of interest. Dr. Vicky Lauer will speak on use of antibiotics on bees. Dr. Lauer is a Processional Service Veterinarian for ANIMART LLC, a company that provides advice and veterinary products to producers. Judy and Bob Hoffman discuss the health benefits of honey and uses for beeswax. In addition, State Representative Steven Doyle will be attending and speaking to the group. Our friend Todd Krueger of Sand Creek Brewery in Black River Falls will wrap up the day with another excellent craft honey beer specially brewed for our meeting. Everyone is welcome.
