New State Bee Inspector Named

DATCP is pleased to announce the selection of Daniel Ziehli as a State Apiary Inspector, filling the vacancy left by Craig Petros’ retirement.  Dan is a second-generation beekeeper who recently retired from a career in the Air Force as an equipment mechanic.  Last year he began commercial apiary operations on his own, specializing in honey production and limited pollination activities.
Dan has been very active in the local beekeeping community, and we look forward to the wide range of knowledge, skills and experience he brings to the position.  He will officially start on May 4, and will be based out of his home in Monticello.  Please join us in welcoming Dan to the Bureau!
